Denine Hagen | ChairMan
Denine Hagen worked in higher education for more than three decades, including 20 years at the University of California San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering. In her role as Assistant Dean for Programs and Initiatives, she led strategic planning and helped launch education and research initiatives. She also managed the School’s C-level advisory board and oversaw the corporate relations, communications, special events and entrepreneurism programs. She worked closely with the School’s fundraising team, and often took the lead on proposal development for corporations, individuals and foundations. Denine grew up in Lancaster County, PA and attended Point Park University where she earned a bachelor’s in journalism and communications. She began her career as a science writer for Penn State’s Hershey Medical Center.
Denine and her husband retired and relocated to the lake country from San Diego CA in 2021. They enjoy golfing and traveling, and are often on the road visiting family in Pennsylvania, Ohio, California and Hawaii. Denine stays connected to her passion for higher education through her service with LOYA and as part of the admissions team for Georgia Institute of Technology.
